Accessibility Statement
Our Commitment
The Charlotte County Tax Collector's Office is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply relevant accessibility standards in the belief that every person has the right to live with dignity, equality, comfort, and independence.
Conformance Status
We are actively working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities. Conformance with these guidelines helps make the web more usable for all people.
Known Limitations
While we strive to ensure all pages and content are fully accessible, some content may not yet meet all WCAG 2.1 Level AA criteria. Known areas we are actively working to improve include:
- Some legacy PDF documents may not be fully accessible. We are converting these to accessible HTML formats on an ongoing basis.
- Some third-party content or embedded tools may not meet the same accessibility standards. We have limited control over third-party accessibility but encourage those vendors to improve their products.
Alternative Formats
If you need information from our website in an alternative accessible format — such as large print, plain text, or another accommodation — please contact us and we will do our best to provide the information in a format that meets your needs.
